About Me
Makeup is not a tool meant to make an ugly thing beautiful, it is meant only to magnify the beauty that already exists.

Mummy Makeup
As a mother to a very energetic 10 month baby boy I know how extremely hard it is for mothers to find the time to get a toilet break, no mind time to do their makeup!
This really is my "zero time" look right hear. I have naturally unmanageable curly hair that on busy, stay at home days, I just tie up into this mess.
I literally just have foundation, bronzer, mascara and brow shadowing done here. It took maybe 6 whole minutes haha!
I really think the basic look has a lot to do with what brushes and makeup you use. My everyday foundation has never looked so flawless since getting my new MAC 190 foundation brush. I also got the MAC penultimate brow pen too. It is the best product I've used that gives a natural full brow, everyday look! :-)
It's €19.50.. Well worth the extra dolla!
I don't have a fully done face everyday, even though I LOVE makeup.. It's just not possible for me. :-)

MAC Brushes
I have been collecting MAC brushes, one a week, for a few weeks now as I want to collect the whole lot for the makeup course I'll be doing next college year..
I had been using Real Techniques and Body Shop brushes for myself until now.
I am absolutely in LOVE with my MAC brushes though.
I have :
•The Foundation brush is AMAZING. It's the no.190. Loads of compliments on my makeup since using this brush.
•The next brush is the no.189, large contour brush.. I havnt used this yet, I only got it in the post today, but I've heard only good things about it :-)
•The next 3 brushes are eyeshadow brushes. The no.217, 219 and 239. My eyeshadow has never looked so good. The no.239 is the best blending brush I've ever used. People are always raving about it.
I used these eyeshadow brushes to create this look on my birthday:
I would highly recommend MAC brushes. They are a bit pricey.. But if they are cleaned and treated well they can last over 10 years. Woo! :-)

My Tattoos
I think this year I've found a very permanent addiction.. Tattoos.. Eek!
I just got this one finished today. I got it started over 10 weeks ago. I got it done in Smily Dogg in Cork City.
This covers up some scars I have that are about 4-5 years old! As far as I know the longer you wait the easier it is to get a scar covered.
Roses are my ultimate favourite rose. Rían gets me a rose/roses for all occasions.. Valentines.. Birthday.. Mother's Day.. :-)
I chose black and white cause, well, I don't really like colored tattoos. Well not on myself anyway.
On the pain scale.. The nearer the wrist/ligaments under the skin, the more painful. It wasn't unbareable at all.
This is the first ever tattoo I got, in Tattoo Zoo also in Cork City! I'm going back there Friday for another.. I have a problem haha! Anyway here it is..
It's 2 paws. One for my dog, other for my cat. They both passed this year.. We had them both for 13 and 12 years.
This one didn't hurt at all getting it done, but oddly the recovery was soo much worse than my other way bigger one. I think he night have lent to hard on the needle.
This next one I got today while I was getting my other finished off.. It's Rían (my son's) birth date in Roman numerals.
This is on the back of my leg just above my ankle.. :-)
This is not makeup related but so what!

Everyday Contouring
This is my everyday contouring look..
I use MAC foundation applied with no.190 foundation brush by MAC.
I apply a lighter concealer under the eyes, along the nose, cupids arrow and above chin.
I use Bourjois Bronzing Powder under my cheek bones, temples, hairline, along sides of nose, chin and jawline applied with Real Techniques Contour brush.
For blush I used Benefits Coralista just above the cheek bones for a little colour.
Eyes brows are done using the method I always use lately, my eylure brow pencil.

Blue Nails
Maybelline- Color Show in Cool Blue.
Blue is probably my favourite color and I'm surprised that I don't do my nails blue more often.. It is kindof out there for me even. I tend to stick to the classic pinks, corals and reds.
The blue goes well with my new Moonstone ring I bought with some birthday money.
I am always using Maybelline's color show nail varnishes.. I love their colours! They cost about 4.50€ each.. They have a 3for2 offer on at the moment in Dunnes Stores though! Wooo!

My Ultimate Woman Crush.
As everyone I know already knows.. I LOVE Katy Perry. She's such a sweetheart. I have watched her documentary movie "Part of Me" twice and won't be stopping there! She's just so loveable and witty.
Also, she is GORGEOUS!!! Her hair at this length above is my favourite. I also love this natural look on her. She has dark hair and pale skin, like me, so she is a great role model when it comes to hair and makeup ideas for myself! Ha :-)
Love, love, LOVE her!

Plum Lips!
Lighting was a bit useless here..
This is Maybelline's - I love it! As an extremely ghostly pale girl, this shade goes great! It's good with every skintone really.
With simple eye makeup for everyday look or with smokey eyes for a very dramatic, eye catching night look! :)
It's a lot more purple in person. It has a touch of glitter to it.

Face Charts
So I thought doing some face charts for my portfolio would be a good idea.. It seems loads of make up artists use them to plan out looks and that. They are pretty fun.. If not a bit tricky to do, to be honest. They take longer than actual makeup on a real face.. Blahh..
Anyway here are the 2 I've started tonight! I know they are pretty basic occasion looks but I have bigger and better plans to come, you'll see ;)
I write on the back all the products I used to remind myself, If I were to transfer to look to a real face! So far Ive used makeup to do them.. But I will be using some pencils, markers etc. for my more complicated ones cause liquid foundations Etc don't transfer well on paper!! :)

In progress...
This was my very first makeup chart I did! I went for something really simple and classic.
My second chart, a more dramatic look! Something I'm more into myself! 😊
A first go at something brighter! Yellow & Green

Light Purple Eyes
Products used:
•Eylure brow pencil (my eyebrows need to do a little filling out I know)
•Crown Brush 88 eyeshadow palette.
The colours in this palette don't have names. I used a pink, light purple, brown-purple and a dark purple.
•Liquid eyeliner was Glam Eyes by Rimmel.
I didn't use any fake lashes.
This was my first time using the 88 palette. I normally, personally don't like to have any bright colours on my eyes but using this today has opened my eyes to how pretty using colours can be. Usually I just do a plain smokey eye using browns.
My phone is absolutely crap at capturing the true vibrancy/look of the eyeshadow. I will be using the family camera from now on as my iphone does it no justice!
The palette was about 28€ and well worth it! The colours are really pigmented! I wasn't expecting it to be such good quality. I bought it on www.crownbrush.ie.
I also got their 10 shades concealer palette to use for contouring. I'll be doing a post on that soon.

My Eyebrows
I always get compliments on my eyebrows and asked where I go to get them done and if they're HD brows.
I don't go to anyone to get them done, I do them myself!!! I know, shock horror!
I just don't trust anyone with them. I've had them done at Benefit twice, years ago! Like 6-7 years ago I'd say. But I never liked how they'd wax above the eyebrow too.. Which meant thicker regrowth was inevitable!
I simply pluck mine myself.. Every few days or one a week to keep them in shape.
I'm not a huge fan of the slug eyebrow look!..so I don't really draw on too much pencil/shadow filler.
I use these to get the shape:
Eylure - Shape & Shade eyebrow pencil.
Catrice - Eyebrow Shadow.
Tweezer - I dont know, some tweezer Ive had for years... :P
I naturally have fuller eyebrows! (The first pic) And they arnt perfectly even but that's how I like them.. Any more even/filled in and they'd look so unnatural!
I also wouldn't spend the money to get HD done when I can achieve the same look at home for a few euro! It just takes a little practice!
As for getting them waxed at your local beautician.. Well.. I've seen a lot of friends end up like this:
NOT a good look! So be careful! :')
So those are my eyebrows! :-)

WCW woman crush Wednesday!
I love Kelly Osborne so much it's probably a bit unhealthy! She always looks amazing and isn't afraid to try different looks/brighter looks when it comes to her makeup!
First off, her hair is just amazing in itself! I love that colour and I wish I had the balls to try it out myself! It's looks great with paler complexions!
She's got tattoos (like me) and still looks so ladylike! (my idol :P)
Her lip colour is beaut here too. She's always got vibrant lips! She pulls it off like no other!
Let's face it anyone that looks this good in yellow is definite woman crush material!! :-)
