About Me

Makeup is not a tool meant to make an ugly thing beautiful, it is meant only to magnify the beauty that already exists.

Skin care Routine

Ok, so the first thing we learnt at college was how to do a proper cleanse. I mean you could eat you're dinner off your face.. And also you will feel as if you've been a disgustingly dirty person up until you've experienced how to do this cleanse.

We use "Skin Truth" products at college and they're great!! They smell amazing and are suitable for the most sensitive of skin (like mine)
You can buy all the products in Sally's Salon Service in Cork or online on their website. They're very reasonably priced!

Skin Truth products you'll need:
•Eye makeup remover (& almond oil for heavy eye makeup ((yes, real almond oil, like the one you cook with)) )
•Cleansing Milk. This is to remove makeup all over (not the eyes) it contains lavender, which people either love or hate the smell of. Personally I love it!!
•Toner.
•Moisturiser

Steps:

1.
You soak these eye pads in water to remove the oil/makeup remover from the eyes. You do this by moving the pad over the eye, inwards towards the nose and then up over the eyebrows!
Do this until the pads run clean. :-)

2.
Soaking the bigger pads in water, use them to remove the makeup and cleansing milk from all over the face.
Do this using upward strokes over the neck/cheeks and horizontal strokes across forehead. Make sure to get in the creases of the nose and hairline.

3.
Using the smaller eye pads again, soak one with the toner. Blot your whole face (not eyes) with this. Straight away, blot with another clean eye pad to seal in the toner (it evaporates quickly if left unblotted, drying out the skin in the process)

4.
To moisturise, rub the moisturiser between you're hands until body temp and apply all over face.

Happy cleaning!! :-)

Change

Wrecked tired.. A week filled with vomiting bugs (me and my whole family) and tonsillitis (just me affected there) :-(

Up until now I have only blogged randomly here and there but I want to get more into it now I've begun my course. I plan to do a blog at least every Friday, updating you in what I've learned/created during the week. I also have Fridays off (apart from work experience for a few Fridays) I find I have no time in the evenings after spending time playing with my son and eating and organising my kit for the next day... So Friday is my
blog day! Yaaaayyy! :-P

So, see ye Friday!

MAC mini Splurge

I love seeing the shiney black envelope coming in the post.. Here's the inside packaging then... It's cheered me up big time today.. It's the simple things, eh?

I got:
Diva & Rebel.
Both very very similar colours but diva has a red undertone and Rebel has a purple undertone.. Both amazing Autumn colours! I'll be keeping one for myself and adding the other to my Makeup Artist Kit (sob they have to be kept separate!!) :-(
I think I might hang onto Diva myself, it's got more warmth to it.. Something I need badly with my ghostly complexion!

21st Season

Well it's not so much a season as it is a year long thing.. All my friends are turning 21 this year and so I have a party to go to nearly every weekend at this stage! I'm not complaining though.
This is last nights look:

Even did my nails..
They are by Elegant Touch. They are stick on fake nails basically.. I don't know do I love them.. There seems to be so much glue on them that they don't sit down properly to my nail.. They are fun though! I got loads of compliments on them! :-)

The Fun Begins

Today I had registration and recieved this list of costs. It mightn't look like much, but added with "registration fees" it comes to approx €1,800.
I'm so excited about getting the uniform and the makeup kits, to see what's in them! The makeup kit, including brushes, are supplied by an Irish brand called Fushia.
If you're big into makeup/want to do a course in the future, check out their webpage!! :-)
My induction date is next Monday, where I'll meet my class and my suppliers! Yaay!
I'm a bit anxious, being 21 I will obviously be older than a lot of the other students on my course, so I hope we get along.
I'll be updating this blog constantly now on what I learn and experience on my year long course. :-)
