Realistic Theatrical Ageing

I've been dying sick all week! I've got tonsillitis along with a fever I'm feeling crap so I'll just do a brief update now on this look. 

I've already got the stage theatrical ageing up on here but this one now is way more realistic and much funner to do, in my opinion :-) 

For this I used Makeup International liquid latex, their foundation palette and their coloured face paints palette.. You can get  those products and way more special effects makeup on www.makeupinternational.com :-) 

Liquid latex STINKS of vomit, hair dye, eggs, old socks... Everything awful mixed in one basically. But you get over it. I much prefer doing it on someone else than getting it done on me cause it kinda does feel uncomfortable and it made me break out big time! 

You apply it using a cosmetic sponge. 

While doing this look you:

• Prepare everything beforehand.. Products.. Brushes.. Etc. 

• Pull the area where you are applying the latex to apart between 2 fingers and apply latex using the sponge.. Keeping the skin pulled, dry using a hair dryer on COLD setting. Using hot air will make the latex blister and bubble.. Not cool :-P

• Do this step for all over the face.. You'll see the fine lines this creates around the face as well as really emphasizing lines (sides of mouth) and wrinkles (smokers pout) that were there beforehand. 

• Get the model/yourself to make all the facial expressions you can think of (smile , shock, frown) 

• Using a foundation 2 shades too dark, apply all over the face and down the neck. 

• Using the smallest, thinnest brushes you can find, apply a very dark brown (not black unless on black skinned people) to all the lines you can see. Basically, fill in all lines and wrinkles with a very thin line. (This is easier if you get them/yourself to pull the facial expressions again.) 

• You now need to very delicately take the very thin brush and using a very light cream or white foundation (all in the foundation palette) apply this to each side of the already draw on dark lines.. At the same time try to blend the two lines together to make a more natural look. 

• Lastly you can add dark blue/grey undertones to the eye sockets, under eyes, near the mouth, cheek bones, temples, to give that very old, withered look. 

• Adding a great wig and some old lady glasses and a scarf finishes it off! 

This is a great look to have in your portfolio. An ageing look needs to be completed 3 times for my end of year exam. That's 3 out of 35 looks. Wow. 

It's all easy stuff once you get the hang of it :-)
