About Me

Makeup is not a tool meant to make an ugly thing beautiful, it is meant only to magnify the beauty that already exists.

Day 4 #30daymakeupchallenge

So I didn't write on here about day 3.. I figured the picture I put on my insta was pretty self explanatory..

What's better than mac lipsticks eh? NOTHING that's what.

So today was "crazy eyeliner". Now. Everyone that knows me (especially the girls I went to college with, know that I hate eyeliner and never experiment with it really.. On myself anyway. I find it way easier to apply on someone else than on myself. I've got a dodgey left eye that doesn't function well, making doing my right eye tricky, ha!
Anyway I had very little patience and it was very late in the day.. Basically I had Broad City recorded and was anxious to get on that.. (Highly recommend btw)
This was my look:

It's very Amy Winehouse. Which isn't always a bad thing!!
Picture quality was horrific, lighting was yuck.. So yano!
I used rimmel liquid liner (in a little glass pot) to do this. Brown btw, not black! :-)
On my lips is a no7 lipgloss. It's ancient. Again, I had zero interest today!

Now.. I might go and give tomorrow's look a little thought now so I'm not completely lazy about it! :-)

Toodles!

Day2 #30daymakeupchallenge

Today was everyday makeup.

I spend maybe 15 minutes doing everyday makeup.. Plus getting dressed! RĂan hates waiting for me to do my makeup and always tries to get into my makeup drawers to throw my stuff around. So I have to be quick.

•Foundation: REVLON COLOURSTAY. This is my palest foundation. I've not put on tan in about a week so I'm back to My natural ghostly hue.
•Concealer: CROWN BRUSH CONCEALER PALETTE.
Under the eyes mainly to cover up dark circles.
•Bronzer: MAC.
I've just a bit added alone cheekbones, temples and forehead for a bit of definition.
•Brows: EYLURE brow pencil in dark brown.
Quick and easy way to fill in eyebrows!
•Eyes: URBAN DECAY BASIC 2 PALETTE.
I used   And    Blended on eyelids. Very subtle.
RIMMEL GLAM EYES.
I have just a thin layer of liner on the lash line.
MAC FALSE LASH WATERPROOF MASCARA.
I've a love hate for this mascara. It's amazing on, really catches all my lashes and coats them well, but it's impossible to get off!!! I must check if they do it in unwaterproof, ha!
•Lips: MAC PRO LONGWEAR LIPLINER PENCIL in Electra.
MAC LIPSTICK in Viva glam 2.
Love a nude lip day to day. I wear lipstick every day. Addicted.

That's it for today! Kinda boring I know but shur!  Plenty more to come! :-)

Day1 #30daymakeupchallenge

Doing the 30daymakeupchallenge on Instagram I thought I'd write on here in more depth about each look. Hopefully I'll remember to keep it up!

Basically this is what I, and two of my college BFF's are doing :

As we only started today, we are on no.1 which is "Bare Face"

I personally hate my bare face. I'vevthe complexion of a certain friendly ghost and always, no matter how much sleep I get, have bags under my eyes.. Especially on my right eye.
Here is the picture I used :

I used flash as I was in my bedroom with curtains closed, haha yes I'm a hermit!!
Also flash made me look less of a corpse. Yay.
As you can see, my eyebrows are still defined but not filled in like I usually have them.
I'm having a major breakout at the moment too (major for me anyway) and I've got a good few spots around my mouth. Quite sore. It's driving me mad.
I'm using a mask from Lush on a daily basis trying to clear it up. The mask :

In love. It smells like mint icecream!!!
My skin is drying up thankfully!
Overall, the more I look at this pic the less I hate my bare face.
I would adore more freckles and would love to experience some sun cause I know I'd freckle up big time!!
I've had freckles forever. People always pass comments as if they're an unsightly thing to have, but I think their cute.
And any guy with them is unreal ;-)

Now.. More again tomorrow for day no.2 of the #30daymakeupchallenge

Washing Makeup Brushes

I really hate doing this... And although it's recommended to do it once a week.. I definitely don't.. Oops!

Hands down, the best thing for cleaning your makeup brushes is baby shampoo. I use the normal scented Johnson's baby shampoo. But I think I'll buy a fragrance free one next time, as I'm getting sick of my makeup brushes smelling like my sons curly locks! :-P

- You will want to run the brush, holding the hairs downwards, under warm water. (Never turn the hairs upwards, letting water enter the neck of the brush where the glue is will erode the glue over time.)
- Next, pour a tiny amount of the baby shampoo into the palm of your hand. Swirl the wet brush in the shampoo and watch as all the makeup is cleansed from the brush! (Very satisfying part)
- Run the brush back under the warm water and squeeze out the excess water.
- Leave the brushes lying flat, on a towel until they have dried fully. (Be patient!!)

Enjoy! :-)

I could have cried.

Ok so I completely neglected this blog yoke for months.. I really just forgot! As a lot of the girls in college are putting up their own blog and Facebook pages I thought I better get back into this... Like I have the time!! :-P

Anyway! Around Christmas I saw that MAC were releasing a very limited edition new Disneys Cinderella line.. I didn't however realise just how limited it was going to be.. It's only available in England's London stores and online (which conveniently doesn't ship to Ireland, at all) I mean what the actual fuck.. In this day and age, really?

When the woman in the Cork City MAC store broke the news to me, the two of is nearly had a crying session together.. But I pulled myself together.. I'm currently off to investigate this "parcel motel" thingy and see if I could somehow get it shipped to Ireland.. Costing a bomb no doubt! But I've fallen in love with the lippy and eyeshadows.... Sigh.. We always want what we can't have!!!

Meanwhile I came across this new line MAC will be bringing out shortly.. And I swear I'll kill a bitch if it's not out in Ireland..

Never heard of the guy.. Or woman.. Not sure.. But the colours... Oh my god.. The fushia pink and red.... I neeeeeed.

Daytime/natural makeup

So it might sound like the easiest of makeup looks to do but it's surprisingly hard to make someone look natural as a makeup artist.. Always wanting to do a more eye catching/dramatic look! Going by the book, this look needs to look as if the client isn't actually wearing makeup.. Like she "woke up like this!" :-P

The fab Katie.

To do this look it's all about keeping it minimalist.
I used all Fushia products as that is what we have to use in college as our kit.

•cleanse, tone, moisturise.
•primer
•foundation
•lightly conceal.
•eyebrows (shadow)
•beige eyeshadow & very little brown in crease.
•mascara
•lipliner
•lipstick (creme cup by MAC, I loved it :P)
